CALGARY DANCE STUDIO POLICY

Thank you for your interest in our dance studio policy. We strive to maintain a professional and inclusive environment that ensures the safety and enjoyment of all dancers. Please find below an overview of our dance studio policies:

Registration and Enrollment

All dancers must complete the registration process, sign liability waiver and provide accurate contactinformation before participating in any activities at the studio.
Tuition fees, payment schedules, and any additional administrative requirements will be communicatedduring the registration process.
Packages are not transferable between students.

Payment

We accept cash, credit cards, personal cheques and E-Transfer.
Payment is due on the first day of a program, and is payable before the end of the first class.
There is a $20.00 fee for all returned checks.
​There is no refund on payments.

Attendance and Punctuality

Private Lesson is 45 minutes long.
Group classes are 50 minutes long.
Regular attendance is important for progress and consistency in learning.
If a dancer is unable to attend a private class, minimum 24h advance notice required to allow instructors to plan accordingly.
There are no discounts or refunds given for students absences from registered group classes. No refund will be given for no-shows or tardiness.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are by appointment only.
All private lessons must be pre-paid.
Private lesson packages must be paid in full and used within 6 months of purchase.
Please note: a private lesson does not mean a private room.

Code of Conduct

Dancers are expected to treat fellow dancers, instructors, staff, and the facility with respect, kindness, and professionalism.
Bullying, discrimination, or any form of harassment will not be tolerated.
Dancers should arrive on time for classes, rehearsals, and performances and come prepared with appropriate attire and equipment. Class will start promptly at the designated time. It is suggested to arrive 10-15 minutes earlier to change your shoes and prepare yourself for class.


Dress Code and Attire

Dancers are required to adhere to the designated dress code for each class or dance style.
Appropriate dancewear and footwear should be worn, ensuring freedom of movement and safety.
Hair should be securely tied back and away from the face to avoid distractions during class.


Studio Etiquette

Food, gum, and drinks (except water) are not permitted in the dance studio.
Dancers should refrain from using mobile phones during classes or rehearsals, unless it is for a specific educational purpose or under instructor supervision.
Parents, guardians, or other spectators should observe classes from designated viewing areas to minimize disruptions.

Health and Safety

Dancers should inform the instructor of any pre-existing injuries, medical conditions, or limitations that may affect their participation.
The studio will maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Dancers should follow instructions provided by instructors regarding warm-up exercises, stretching, and proper technique to minimize the risk of injury.

Statutory Holidays

When a class falls on a statutory holiday, such as Easter Monday or Victoria Day, then the class will not be held. A reduction in fee will be calculated for that session/program, and drop-in classes will not be held, unless otherwise advertised.
